Allow Me to Introduce Myself
Hi, I'm Pam Skolrud
I have been a homemaker for almost 40 years and I have worked full-time at least 30 of those years. I understand the balancing act of taking care of a home and family while needing to be employed.
I have been married for almost forty years to my wonderful husband and we have three grown sons, two wonderful daughters-in-love, and five adorable grandchildren. My family is the delight of my life and my reason I love what I do.
Until May 2020, I was employed by a university. I learned a lot from my students about how prepared and unprepared students are for starting real life and establishing a home. Throughout those years almost twenty years, I had lots of conversations with married students about balancing work/school and home life. Even though my heart was at home, I loved helping others and sharing what I had learned so they could love their homes as well.
My faith is the foundation of my life, marriage, and home. I have been active in children’s and youth ministry leadership as well as led women’s Bible studies. I love serving in areas of hospitality.
I had great mentors in homemaking in my grandma and my mom. At an early age, I was in the kitchen and participating in cooking, canning, and cleaning up. I learned how to stretch a meal planned for five into enough to feed all that came to the table. Sewing, gardening, teaching, and hospitality were just part of what I learned. They instilled in me a strong work ethic and the heart for helping others.
I look forward to sharing with you what I have learned through the years and hope to learn from you as well! My grandma taught me you are never too old to learn and I’m always looking for new opportunities.
Let’s share and travel together on this journey to a heart for home.
