Do you know how many times the word joy is used in Scripture? Depending on which version you read, at least 200 times! We often mistake happiness for joy but they are definitely not the same. Happiness is a fleeting emotion brought about by circumstance. But joy is a choice to celebrate despite circumstance. We find strength from God and fellowship with Him in our choice to be joyful. It is time to choose Courageous Joy.
Recently, I received an email as part of the (In)courage subscription list. It was an opportunity to get an early copy of the new devotional Courageous Joy and to participate in launch team activities. Of course, I responded with a yes and am loving this Bible Study. I hope you saw my posts on Instagram and Facebook with the photo of my Bible, my journal, and my copy of Courageous Joy.
Courageous Joy is available now
The book has now been released and is available on the (In)courage website or Amazon. It is more than worth the cost. I encourage you to get a copy today and get started finding your way to courageous joy. I started the year with the Bible study by (In)courage of Courageous Simplicity, and it is also a great study.
The study includes six weeks of interactive study on the topic of joy. It is really a journal with space to answer questions and Scripture references to examine. I am in week 5 of Courageous Joy. Weekly topics include:
- What is joy?
- Joy in the Lord
- Joy in Who God Made You to Be
- Joy in the Good Times
- Joy in the Bad Times
- Joy in Community
Has your joy been tested?
The challenges of the past year have truly tested our ability to choose joy! Our emotions volleyed between isolation, anger, sadness, loneliness, and rebellion. Through this study, I am learning to have joy in who God is and that I am His. His plans are for my best and to give me an abundant life. No promises of financial prosperity but promises of abundant joy, relationship, and fulfillment.
Please utilize one of the links provided above to grab your copy of Courageous Joy. And while there, get a copy of Courageous Simplicity as well. I am not an (In)courage or Amazon affiliate so I make no money if you purchase through my links. I simply want to share the joy and simplicity I have embraced with this new year.
Thanks for letting me share my heart for home and for you!
