Faithfulness 1

Great is Thy Faithfulness

As we stood in church yesterday and sang the old anthem of God’s faithfulness, I remembered all the times I have experienced that faithfulness. From being hospitalized with pneumonia as a toddler to having a tumor removed from my spinal cord as a young mother, God has seen me through many challenges. I have learned from experience that His Word and His promises will never fail.

Phrases of my favorite hymn echo Lamentations 3:22-23 (NASB):

Faithfulness 1

This week my family is facing several fierce challenges in spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional realms. It would be so easy to let fear of unknown outcomes overwhelm me. But, as I reflect on God’s faithfulness in the past, my desire to rely on His faithfulness is affirmed and encouraged.

Please don’t misunderstand me. My faith is not a token that I put into God’s faithfulness slot machine to get the outcomes that I want. Instead, it is the affirming knowledge that God’s outcomes are always what is best for me, the “confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1 NIV). What I hope for is God’s best and I am assured by His Word that His will and timing are perfect.

My prayers and hopes for this week are great but the God I love and trust is greater!

Faithfulness 2

I pray that this relationship grows stronger rather than being threatened by lies.

Faithfulness 3

I pray that this sweet girl experiences restoration to complete health.

I pray that God will guide them to His perfect educational path and make provision for it.

I pray that his family (and our extended family) find comfort as we gather to celebrate his well-lived life.

I am so thankful for the encouragement of Scripture that affirms my reliance on God’s faithfulness and provision. God has blessed our family with relational and physical healing. We have received divine direction and guidance in making tough decisions. God has supplied our daily provision when we have come to the end of our resources. I pray that you will also experience His faithfulness in your family life and daily experiences.

Thank you for allowing me to share my heart for home and family!

Sharing is caring!
