About Me
I love encouraging young (and older) married women–helping each one try to find the balance between being herself, a wife, a full-time student/employee, and a homemaker. I haven’t found that perfect balance yet but enjoy sharing the journey.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 40 years. We have three awesome sons, two great daughters-in-love, and four adorable grandchildren. (Another granddaughter is due in February.)
After renting for five years, we are once again homeowners and enjoying getting to make our own choices for decor and landscaping. I work full-time but am in love with being at home creating a place of peace and rest, joy and fun, ministry and healing. I enjoy the challenge of finding a balance between work, self-care, marriage & family, and homemaking. I graduated from college almost 10 years ago (when I was forty-something) through an Adult Evening Program while working full-time and caring for my family and home.
I love sharing my experience and knowledge in the homemaking arts: canning and food preserving, cooking and baking, sewing, needlecrafts, hospitality, gardening, home decor, cleaning (although this one is definitely not my favorite!), and more. I am an avid reader, love crafting and taking pictures (and am trying to learn the basics of good amateur photography), and am our family historian. I enjoy welcoming family and friends into my home and inviting new friends into my world through my blog.
