This year’s table at our annual CP Northshore Women’s Christmas Tea was a tribute to my family.
I love dishes and being able to create a lovely table. I am able to do so because I have been blessed to receive special dishes from others that also believed in sharing their blessings with others.
I remember as a teen helping my mom pack up various dishes and family items to be used for a women’s event for which she and a friend were decorating. This past month as we sorted through her cup and saucer collection many of the cups had round stickers with her initials stuck on the bottom. She had used the whole collection for a women’s tea at her church.
My grandmother showed her family how to share by using fabric that she had collected to make quilts for missionaries and those in need, and by taking meals to shut-ins and families in need.
I hope that I have been an example to my family of that same sharing. If God has blessed us with possessions and talents, it is so that they can be shared and used to bless others.
My son Justin’s Steinbach nutcrackers were part of the centerpiece, and the “tree” is actually a rosemary bush that will become part of my herb garden.
The plates are from my mom’s china, the china mugs and teapots are from a sweet aunt,
and the napkin rings were made by my son, Jordan, in junior high shop class.
I pray that the ladies at my table were as blessed by my sharing
as I was blessed to be able to share and carry on a legacy!
Continuing to feel blessed by God with a heart for home~~
