I love that Christmas song but the truth is we are not at our house for Christmas this year.
I have learned through the many changes we have experienced this last year that home really is where the heart is. It’s not a specific place. It is being with people that you love. So even though we are away from our house, I am home because I am with the love of my life, and where he is will always be home for me.
For the first time, none of our boys are coming home for Christmas. Our oldest is with his wife’s family and the two younger boys are with their girlfriend’s families. We had our family Christmas last week. I hope they have a wonderful and memorable holiday today!
Our sweet niece invited us to her home this year so we are with extended family. We are having fun and enjoying time with a group of people that are all related but not necessarily to each other except by “shirt tails” and love.
A very special Merry Christmas to Ryan, Emily, and Nora, Jordan and Angela, Justin and Ceci! Your dad and I pray that your day will be blessed with love and laughter, and God keep you until we can be together again.
Today as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, I pray that your heart will find its home! May you be present to those you are with, and let your heart reach across the miles to those that could not be home this year. Blessings for a memorable day!
Sharing my heart for home and family–Merry Christmas!
