Mondays changed today. No, it’s not a holiday but I am at home. The transition is over. I no longer work remotely. Now I work at home.
The Shock of Change
No, it wasn’t planned or anticipated. Last Monday when I joined an online chat appointment, I never dreamed I had started my last week with my employer for almost twenty years. Unfortunately, financial restructuring eliminated my position.
Last week, I was on a bit of a rollercoaster. Anger and fear competed with excitement and anticipation for my heart and mind’s attention. I had choices to make and the first one was how was I going to finish the week. I chose to focus on finishing the week strong and with integrity. It was very important for me to leave my students and co-workers in the best situation for them to move forward without me. “Goodbyes” and “see you laters” were said with tears and proper social distancing or via email and online chats. A beautiful bouquet sits on my mantle from a dear friend and coworker.
Time to Move Forward
Now, it’s time to move forward with more focus on my calling and heart’s desires. For years, I have felt called to share my knowledge and skills in homemaking arts with anyone who willing to listen. My heart feels a special tug towards those women whose desire is to be at home but their circumstances dictate that they work outside the home. God has now opened the door for me to have the time to respond to His call in the manner I feel He is directing.
Over the next few weeks, expect to see changes to my site, blog, and social media accounts. I will be updating, rearranging, and adding new features.
